July 4 - Santa Anna Inlet

Hi again! We are back in contact with an internet provider service in a video shop in Petersberg, Alaska. I am trying to get some picture upload capability but I am not at all certain if this will happen until we get to Juneau.
We left Ketchekan in overcast windy weather and proceeded northward to an anchorage just south of Wrangell Island. The anchorage was long and secure with three sailboats all rafted together at the head of the inlet. We tried to get anchored in the very head of the inlet but ended up quite close to the rafted sailboats which is really kind of silly since we were the only other boat in there. So we pulled up and moved to the center of the inlet in pretty deep water. I let out all 300' of chain and we hoped our winch would work well in the morning to get all that back on the boat.
We had a relaxing night and looked forward to heading off to the town of Wrangell the next day.
